This is my pitch for my novel:
Argus, a handsome angel with evil intentions, pursues seventeen year old Prince Conell De Caprise of Ezasu, his two friends and a young girl who escaped from the Regent’s prison. The girl claims a strange medallion brought her to Ezasu. Argus claims he is the one who must take her home. Conell’s instincts tell him something is wrong with this so-called angel.
And his instincts are right.
The Gods of Ezasu imprisoned Argus, a demon, centuries ago for rebellion. Now he has escaped and longs for revenge. He’ll find it by enslaving the girl and her wielding the medallion. Conell has vowed to protect her, but not for Ezasu’s sake. He failed in the past to save his parents, he won’t make that same mistake again.
The PRINCE’S SECRET is a character driven YA fantasy and is completed at 59,000 words. It is also the first book in a series of three. I have also included below my query the first ten pages of my manuscript.
I have taken extensive writing classes under PATRICIA HICKMAN, University of North Carolina writing professor and award winning author of PAINTED DRESSES and LAND OF FAR HORIZONS SERIES. I have also attended workshops with Wheaton College professor and writer NICOLE MAZZARELLA, author of THIS HEAVY SILENCE and with DIANE EBLE, writer, teacher and publishing coach. I have also taken writing classes via Writersdigest.com and through Lindenwood University. I am also working with a fencing teacher who is directing me through the fight scenes in the book. I have a BA in Marketing from Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Missouri and I am willing to use my marketing skills to promote my novel.
